John grew up on the family farm (Melaleuka) which has been transformed into the C.Y. O’Connor Village and now includes the Pub, the Homestead (office), the laboratory and his new family home. He oversees operations at C. Y. O’Connor Village and manages the Village Green Paddock-to-Plate cattle operation at the new farming properties in North Dandalup. John was a hospitality consultant before coming home full-time to expand on his passion – breeding, finishing and delivering top quality beef from our farms directly to the plate.
Jason HamptonVenue Manager
Jason brings a wealth of knowledge of all things food and beverage to C. Y. O’Connor Village Pub. In the past he has managed establishments such as El Publico, Green House and Harvest Restaurant, and gained experience at Leeuwin Estate Winery, sparking his love for good food and good booze. He has also completed an MBA (Wine Marketing) and has lectured in beverage appreciation at Edith Cowan University. Jason is always available to talk wine and encourages people to jump out of their comfort zone.
Gavin WrightHead Chef
Gavin has had over 16 years experience as Head Chef in busy venues around Perth including South Perth’s Windsor Hotel. Since starting as Head Chef at C. Y O’Connor Village Pub, Gavin has improved food quality and lifted the pub’s profile with his flair for reliable Australian pub grub. His love of good food and appreciation of quality produce has enabled him to bring out the best in our own Melt Beef for your enjoyment. Gavin’s Melt Beef steak sandwich was a finalist in WA’s Best Steak Sandwich Competition in 2015 and 2016.
Louise Flynn Assistant Venue Manager
Louise has had over 14 years experience in the hospitality industry and 6 years experience in banking and credit control in both Australia and Ireland. Louise migrated to Australia in 2012 and has been employed at C. Y. O’Connor Village Pub since 2013 undertaking the role of Restaurant Manager, then Assistant Venue Manager.
Robert CinanniAssistant Venue Manager
Robert was born and raised in hospitality through family owned businesses Peter’s Cellars Northbridge, Cheers Bar & Grill and The High Wycombe Tavern. He has also managed several establishments for the Spirit Hotel Group including Victoria Park Hotel, High Road Hotel, Glengarry Tavern and The Leopold. Rob has a passion for the industry, extensive experience in food and beverage operations, and has earned multiple AHA accolades.
